31 Days Of Halloween: World Of Warcraft’s Hallow’s End

Hallow‘s End – World of Warcraft‘s seasonal all-world event – has begun, letting players take in the sights and sounds of the spooky season as they collect special candy, masks, and all sorts of other goodies from around the world of Azeroth. The event runs until November 1st, and even with all of the changes that have taken place in preparation for Shadowlands, it’s still well worth your time to participate in the annual celebration.

Per Wowhead, the biggest (and, really, only) thing to keep in mind is that “loot and required levels for various activities has changed, including Loot-Filled Pumpkin which is awarded to players level 45 and higher.” This really shouldn’t impact those who routinely play the game though, since they’ll likely be at the necessary levels. However, if you’re like me, and are someone just jumping back into Azeroth in for the upcoming release of Shadowlands, Hallow’s End is a perfect time to do so.

If you‘ve never participated in the event before, it’s one of the most enjoyable events of the year. Maybe it’s my affinity for autumn and everything it brings with it – yes, that includes Pumpkin Spice Lattes – but as the most casual of casual World of Warcraft player, I’ve never taken part in a more accessible world event.

Not only am I able to take part in the special quest and mini-games that Hallow’s End has to offer, but there’s also a whimsical sort of feeling that lingers in the air as the Headless Horseman makes his presence known. I was honestly blown away (and slightly terrified) the first time I heard his ghostly banter from out of nowhere as I was headed out from the Stormwind gates.

It wasn’t actually until a couple of years later that I finally came face to face with the Headless Horseman, thanks to my max-level friend who ran me through the 5-person boss encounter. It was a very fun and rewarding fight for a casual player such as myself – don’t worry, as a Restoration Druid, I kept our party alive and well – which ended up rewarding me with The Horseman’s Reins.

If you’re already planning on playing Shadowlands, you might as well get a headstart and take advantage of everything that Hallow’s End has to offer. You should, at the very least, take advantage of the experience buffs that are available to you right now.
