PowerA is well-known in the gaming world for producing quality controllers and other accessories, and the Moga XP5-X Plus is no exception. This controller is designed for use with mobile devices, but it can also be used with a PC or laptop via Bluetooth. It has a built-in clamp that allows you to attach your phone to the controller, giving you a more traditional gaming experience. Additionally, the XP5-X Plus comes with a detachable 10-foot USB cable, so you can use it as a wired controller if you prefer.

Design, Comfort, and Connectivity

The first thing you’ll notice about the PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus is its sleek design; it looks like a traditional gaming controller — which is far better than the smaller clamp controllers specifically made for holding phones. This design also makes a lot of sense considering that it’s a Designed for Xbox certified accessory, very much resembling an Xbox controller.

The second thing you’ll notice is how comfortable it is to hold; it doesn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable in your hands and is surprisingly light.

Finally, the built-in clamp allows you to attach your phone to the top of the controller. This is a great feature if you’re planning on using the XP5-X Plus for mobile gaming; it gives you a more traditional gaming experience by putting your phone front and center.

The PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus controller is a great option for mobile gamers who want a more traditional gaming experience. It connects wirelessly to your phone and has a built-in rechargeable battery, making it great for on-the-go gaming.

Additionally, the controller includes two programmable buttons, a trigger button, a directional pad, and a touchpad, making it a versatile option for a variety of games. The buttons on the XP5-X Plus are extremely responsive and have a nice clicky feel to them. The D-pad in particular feels great; it’s one of the best I’ve used on any mobile controller.

In terms of connectivity, the PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus controller uses Bluetooth to connect wirelessly to your mobile device or computer. The controller also includes a USB Type-C port for charging the built-in battery.

Performance

The PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus controller performed well in my tests. I found that the controller was responsive and had very little input lag. I tested the controller with a variety of games on both mobile and PC — FPS titles like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile, along with some cloud-based single-player games — and found that it worked well with all of them (sometimes after a bit of finagling with the settings). One thing to note is that the programmable buttons are not compatible with all games. However, they seemed to work fine for the games that I tried out.

The Cherry on Top

As a busy father of two, I appreciate that the PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus controller includes a built-in clamp that allows you to attach your phone to the controller. I can quickly reach for the controller and play a game while the kiddos are occupied or napping. Additionally, the 10-foot USB cable is great for playing games on my laptop when I’m traveling.

The Verdict

Overall, the PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus controller is a great option for mobile gamers who want a more traditional gaming experience. It’s well-designed, comfortable to hold, and responsive buttons make it easy to play even the most demanding games on your phone or tablet. If you’re looking for a gamepad to take your mobile gaming experience to the next level, I would highly recommend checking out the PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus.
