LEGO Has officially revealed its Sonic The Hedgehog set featuring the iconic Green Hill Zone from the original game that started it all in 1991.

Created by LEGO superfan Viv Grannell, the set – which contains 1,125 pieces – comes with the five mini-figures of Sonic, Crabmeat, Moto Bug, Dr. Eggman, and the Phantom Ruby. Of course, you can’t have a Sonic set without rings – the set also including 10 boxes of golden-colored rings, along with Technic spring lever to bounce Sonic high into the air. Help Sonic snag the ever-elusive gem as you build and play with the set, or set the scene on your display shelf as everybody’s favorite hedgehog thwarts Robotnik (yet again).

The new set was leaked a few days ago, but today, LEGO is officially confirming its release on January 1, 2022 via LEGO Stores and the LEGO website with a recommended retail price of $69.99.

LEGO Designer Sam Johnson had the following to say about the new set:

“Just about anyone who has enjoyed video games on any level in the last 30 years, knows and loves Sonic — and has probably sped through the unforgettable Green Hill Zone with him. We have designed this set to be just as colorful and fun as the in-game version of The Green Hill Zone, then filled it with lots of easter eggs and even prizes to help fans enjoy some of their most beloved gaming icons in a brand-new way.”
