Worms Rumble Takes Center Stage Today

If you aren’t already playing Worms Rumble, what are you waiting for? Especially if you’re an avid fan of the Worms franchise, this is a must-play title, which, quite honestly, also happens to be the first such title in a very long time.

What makes Worms Rumble unique from the previous games in the twenty-five year old (!) franchise is that instead of its staple turn-based combat, you’ll be taking on other players in real-time combat. The side-scrolling 2D, or in the case, 2.5D perspective remains the same, but you’ll be surrounded at all times by constant combat, explosions, and general chaos – even more so than in previous Worms games, which is saying a lot.

As a long-time player of the entire Worms library of games, I can attest to how refreshing and fun Worms Rumble is to play. Game modes at launch include free-for-all (which allows for respawning after death), Last Squad Standing (a wormy take on Call of Duty‘s Sabotage game mode), as well as Last Worm Standing, which is essentially a free-for-all battle royale.

The free bets weekend a couple of weeks ago allowed players to see just how challenging Worms Rumble is, which definitely extends into the full launch. It takes time and patience to become skilled enough to survive, but it’s more than worth it in the end thanks to the game’s fun-factor – not to mention the humor that can be found in pretty much all Worms games.

Worms developer Team17 has knocked it out of the park with Worms Rumble, which is available now PS4, PS5, and PC.
