New Rune Factory 5 Preview Trailer Shows Off Fully 3D Exploration, Farming, & Combat

Get ready to build, explore, and love once again, as developer Marvelous Inc. and North American publisher XSEED Games have shared a brand-new preview trailer for the upcoming release of Rune Factory 5. The latest entry into the farming/life sim RPG franchise is slated to launch in North America on March 22, 2022 for Nintendo Switch.

The new trailer shows off the fully 3D world of Rune Factory 5 – a first for the much-beloved series – and all of the things that players can expect as they explore the town of Rigbarth, including exploration, farming, crafting, and, hopefully, finding that special someone. The combat looks especially impressive, whether you’re battling oversized bugs or gigantic monsters and dragons as you (a peacekeeper) try to prevent threats from disrupting the Rigbarth’s peaceful way of life.

Rune Factory 5 is available for physical pre-order now from the XSEED Games Store, with the standard edition of the game available for $59.99 and limited retail “Earthmate Edition” of the game available for $79.99. The “Earthmate Edition” comes with a custom outer box with artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki, an exclusive SteelBook case, an artbook with over 70 pages of character and concept art, and some other goodies. For you collectors out there, physical pre-orders through the XSEED Games Store come with the option to bundle the game with a Wooly keychain, which is modeled after the in-game sheep monster.
